Worldfest Houston 2006-02-03
Hey everyone, more good news. We just received a call that we've been invited to screen at the 39th Annual Worldfest Independent Film Festival in Houston. Anyway, we are definitely looking forward to it.

More news when I have it.

Foursite Film Festival 2006-02-01
Just a quick note to let you know that we've been invited to screen at the Foursite Film Festival in Utah coming up March 31 - April 2. The festival boasts an incredible theater that sits 800 people! Should be fun.

Trailer is Up!!! 2006-01-20
Hello everyone, I just wanted to let you know that while I haven't been blogging lately, it doesn't mean I haven't been busy. As you may have noticed, we had an additional poster created as part of our marketing strategy.

The new poster we think is just fabulous. We hope you like it too. Feel free to drop us a comment at info@youdidwhatthemovie.com to let us know what you think.

The film will be screened soon for acquisition execs and the like. Shortly thereafter, we should have a better idea about distribution. We do have a few offers on the table at the present time.

As for the Tiburon International Film Festival in March, I should know when and where we will be screening soon. When I have that info, I'll post it as I hope that for those of you who come to the website and are curious about our film, you'll be able to attend our screening. Tiburon's website has been updated with the line-up of films so check it out. www.tiburonfilmfestival.com. It looks like it is going to be a great festival and we are honored to be included.

In regards to other festivals, I just found out that we've been invited to screen at the Delray Beach Film Festival in sunny Florida also in March. Delray Beach is doing a tribute to Roger Corman so it should be cool.

Cottonelle has officially armored us with thousands of sample wipes that have stickers on them now that say, "These Are For Your Butt! Go See You Did What?" These will be passed out at festivals with our screening times on them. Also, if you don't use wipes, what are you doing? They really are the greatest things ever. I highly encourage you to try them not just for the cleanliness reasons, but for the little slice of heaven they provide. And of course, use Cottonelle!

The Latest News! 2005-11-28
Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you know some good news I found out recently. You Did What? has been officially invited to screen at the Tiburon International Film Festival in March. We are also being considered to be the opening night film. More info about that when I have it. In the mean time, we are just waiting to hear from other festivals to determine where our World Premiere will be.

When I know, I'll post again.

We Did What? (2005-10-10)

"It has all come together. After a lot of sleepless nights, the film is finished and I couldn’t be happier. The final elements came together so perfectly and it is just wonderful to see it as a completed movie. Everyone who has worked on the film in one capacity or another – should be very proud. I think and hope we have something very special on our hands.

Now an entirely new adventure begins… selling the film.

Currently we are having dvds made up as screeners to begin sending to film festivals. While we wait to find out where we will have our World Premier, we are working on our distribution strategy.

For film festivals, all films need gimmicks to help get promote a film. Luckily for us, the gimmick idea we have is helped being actualized by Kimberly Clark Corporation (Cottonelle). We are very close to finalizing a deal that would include us passing out sample packs of their wipes at festivals. The sample packs of wipes would have a small sticker on them that say, “These are for your butt – Go see You Did What?.” The time and location will be listed on it as well.

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank Steve Wagner for his hard work in updating the website. It looks great. Here are some new additons you may or may not have noticed.

New stills are actual photos taken from the film itself now in the Image section.

I'm sure you noticed this one already, our movie poster is now finalized and at the begining of the website. It looks awesome.

A new article on us written by Sandy Cohen for the Daily Breeze about us finishing our film in hopes to make the Sundance deadline.

2 Weeks In... (2005-08-02)

"So one of our leading ladies in the film who will remain nameless (Kelly Overton) complained I haven't blogged enough lately - well, it's just that you know, I've been a bit busy. Fine - no excuses.

With indie movies - you are always told that problems will arise out of nowhere. I'm aware of this. I've always been cautiously optimistic about our progress. As our editor says often "it's going too well."

Well - we finally had one of those indie things happen this past week. However, with some really dedicated people we avoided a major problem and pulled it off in such a way that no one would have ever noticed that just 10 hours before we thought we were screwed royally.

Saturday we shot on at a Sound Stage (Glendale Studios) - anyway these bastards promised us that they had a standing set that we could use for our Dr. Bob Television Show scene. They showed us a picture of what it looked like and said we would only need a couple of hours to get it ready. Sounded like a dream come true for a little film like ours. WRONG!!! They completely lied to us. The set never exhisted. When our art team found out - we had less than a few hours before major stores on a Friday closed which meant we would have been without any kind of solution. Immediately the troops rallied - in Friday traffic! We bought furniture - we painted - we moved things around - we redecorated until late in the night. At 2 in the morning - a brand new set was reconstructed. 5 hours later when our extras and talent began showing up - not a single person could have guessed that the set was literarlly concieved only a few hours before.

The shoot on Saturday was great. Ian Gomez, was hysterical. Ed Kerr gave his typical spot on fantastic performance and Kathy Wagner was caught in between both of them and was great as always. It was a good day. I didn't get much sleep.

So Kelly - that's just one of the reasons I haven't been blogging. I know - no excuses.
