Coffee Date is a romantic comedy written and directed by me (Stewart Wade) and starring Wilson Cruz, Jonathan Bray, Jonathan Silverman, Jason Stewart, Elaine Hendrix, Sally Kirkland, Deborah Gibson (featuring Slim K as a coffee house patron and LAX passenger) and many more talented performers. The DVD includes deleted scenes, bloopers, and a 22 minute making-of featurette called The Brewing of Coffee Date.
Our film won the Audience Award for Best Feature Film at the Sedona International Film Festival and the Salem Film Festival. And critics had some great things to say as well. Kevin Thomas of the Los Angeles Times wrote, "Stewart Wade's Coffee Date is a wry romantic comedy of sexual confusion that deftly becomes increasingly serious without losing its sense of humor. Starting tomorrow, "Coffee Date" will be moving to the newly refurbished Beverly Center 13 Cinemas, located on the top floor of the Beverly Center (8522 Beverly Blvd.).

on Sunday, March 19th 2006 at Cine-Space in Hollywood.

COFFEE DATE, about a straight man (Jonathan Bray, The Young and the Restless), who strikes up a friendship with a gay guy (Cruz) after they are jokingly set up on a blind date. Sparks fly, and the lines of sexuality are blurred. It's a screwball affair featuring an eclectic cast--Oscar nominee Sally Kirkland, ‘80s icon Jonathan Silverman, gay comic Jason Stuart, and pop star/Broadway diva Deborah Gibson.
Coffee Date's first public screening is March 19th 2006 at Cine-Space in Hollywood.
